Rules

Rules, rewards and punishments

  • If a rule isn't written here, it is not a rule.
  • A broken rule requires a standard punishment unless stated otherwise.

Cellphone

  • Applications must be closed when they are not being used.
  • Everybody must be reachable by their cellphone at all times.

Clothes

  • Used clothes may not be left on the floor. One punishment for each item of clothing.
  • After exercising, sports closed must be left on the floor next to the door as soon as you re-enter the house.
    • Washing
      • Sports clothes may only be washed at the end of the day.
      • School clothes may only be washed on Wed and Fri.
      • Clothes to be washed are to be put in the washing bucket.
    • If the clothes are to be used again they must be hung on the wall (possibly in a netted bag).

Eating

  • Kamilin, Tielina and Zian may only eat in the kitchen
  • The only drink that Kamilin, Tielina and Zian may take outside the kitchen is water
  • Kamilin, Tielina and Zian may only use their own drinking container
  • Kamilin, Tielina and Zian may not eat or drink around anything worth more than $100.

Exercise

  • Everybody in the family must exercise for the equivalent of stair running each day. eMpTy will schedule exercising if you owe exercises by the weekend.

Family Meals

  • Stay on your chair until everybody finishes their meal. Standard

Family Status Update

  • Everybody must ensure that family status update happens every day.

Family Tasks

  • No side talking Standard
  • No playing Standard
  • Stay on your chair Standard

Instructions

  • Kamilin, Tielina and Zian must follow instructions given to them, in the order given. Standard
    • An instruction may be revoked only by the parent that gave it.
  • Kamilin, Tielina and Zian may not question instructions at the time the instruction is given. This includes asking 'why' or commenting (e.g. 'not fair').
  • Following instructions takes precedence over following the rules. Once the instruction has been followed, the child may inform the parent that the instruction was inconsistent with a rule.

Manners

  • Hitting in anger. Standard
  • Interrupting when the other person's point hasn't been conveyed. Standard
  • No playing with your food. Standard
  • Talking with your mouth full. Standard
  • Slurping your food or drink. Standard
  • No public masturbation. Standard
  • Making a nuisance of yourself.
  • Interrupting somebody when they are wearing their "Don't Interrupt Me" item. Standard
  • Kamilin, Tielina and Zian may not enter the bedroom when somebody else is sleeping. Standard
  • Diapers must be removed when you aren't sleeping
  • Scowling is not permitted.

Punctuality

  • If you wish to meet somebody else within the family, a schedule must be agreed upon at least an hour before the agreed departure time
  • Standard Schedules apply whenever the same destination comes up, provided the schedule was written up more than an hour in advance.
  • The schedule needs to include:
    • The intended arrival time
    • The intended buffer time (minimum 5 minutes)
    • The conservative expected travel time
    • By calculation from above, the agreed departure time. The departure time must be written down.
  • All participants must arrive before the clock marks the start of the buffer time.
  • If participants are travelling together, they must be waiting at the departure time. That is, they cannot be doing anything that cannot be terminated within 10 seconds. This includes locking the door.

Punishments

  • Kamilin, Tielina or Zian must squat in one spot for five minutes
  • They may not lean against any structure
  • If asked, they must tell anybody the reason they are being punished
  • They may not talk for any reason other than describing the reason they are being punished
  • At the end of the five minutes, they must apologise to the person administering the punishment. The apology must include the reason they are being punished.
  • Nobody may tell the person being punished why they are being punished.

Up & Down Punishment

  • An up & down punishment is the same as the standard punishment except the punished person must alternately stand up and squat all the way down.
  • The punished person must never stop moving
  • This punishment counts as two punishments above; so the punished person must provide two apologies.

Speaking

  • Saying 'huh'. Standard
  • Saying 'yeah' by itself. Standard
  • Saying 'what'. Standard
  • Speaking at an inappropriate volume Standard
  • Whining Standard
  • Communicating ineffectively (e.g. not taking responsibility for being heard) Standard
  • Not repeating back a correction three times

Safety

  1. Children must not dally within 1m of the road.
  2. Everybody must first put on their seatbelt and lock the door when they enter a vehicle.

Sleeping

  • Toys may not be taken to bed
  1. Close your mouth
  2. Close your eyes
  3. Hold position

Toilet

  1. Flush the toilet
  2. Put down the toilet seat
  3. Wash your hands
  4. Turn off the light
  5. Close the door
  • If you miss your sleeping goal, then you go to sleep one hour earlier the next day. Not accumulative.

Storage

  • Shoes must be in the shoe cabinet and the door closed before you start an unrelated task in the house. Standard
  • Where an object has Designated Storage it must be put back there after use. Standard
  • Doors must be kept closed. Standard

Toys

  • Toys must be played on the mat. Toys not on the mat are confiscated for one week.
  • Mat must be put away by 1950 each day (unless dispensation is granted). All toys on mat confiscated.
  • Books must be back on the bookshelf. One punishment for each book left out.
  • Toys may only be taken out of the house if they are first registered lost.
